This was my first week working on a Monday in a while and things were a little different. Mondays are spent dealing with the over-30 mens league. I wouldn't have expected it, but, these men are more serious and competitive than those who play the coed game. After the games, the men bickered about their games and how they didn't get their way sometimes.
On Thursday and Friday, i had to finish some paper work and make phone calls to team players. Also, after every games I filled out the game reports on the computer so players can see the ranking and scores on our website. Thursday and Friday were nice smoothing days.
Saturday was youth games day. The youth games went smoothly this week; there were no problems. I mostly worked the snack bar instead of the front desk on Saturday. The snack bar was really busy, everybody wanted to buy everything. I was the time keeper for the games for a while before the other intern came in and took over. On Sunday, I got to accomplish a new task. I had to open the open building for the first time. It was last minute notice also. My manager, Colleen, called me and said she will be working from home. The she asked me to open up the building. The process was easier than what i thought it would be. Things were quiet until the high school games started. After the high school games were over, we had a gap of time until the coed games started. So, I started calling team players to inquire as to whether they are coming back for next session. I also contacted people concerning starting a dodgeball tournament next weekend.
My internship is over in a week. I believe the managers are grateful to have me. I feel as they trust me enough to open and close the building and that's a great honor. I would love to keep working at Wall2Wall after my internship is completed. I hope I am given this opportunity.
