Thursday and Friday were slow days. We did the usual. We checked players in, made I.D. cards, took payments and made phone calls. A lot of progress was made after making many successful telephone calls. We were able to add three more youth teams. Now, we can make a full schedule for all the teams we added.
Saturday was a hectic day. Early in the morning, the whole staff went on a charity walk and donated money for a four year old girl named Ashley, who has a medical condition known as MLD disease. We participated in the walk because the mother of Ashley is a regular customer at Wall2Wall and we wanted to help out the family. That was a great experience for me because I had never done anything like that before. After the walk, when we arrived at work we performed our regular duties. By the end of my shift, that's when a problem came about. When the other intern and I were about to leave, we noticed a big puddle of water on the floor. Then, a customer came up to us and said there was another puddle by the batting cages. We went to go get Colleen the manager. Colleen was shocked, she didn't known how this could of happened. For a while, we were thinking of how this could of happened while we started mopping the floor. Fortunately, Colleen found the source of the problem. The training area called Ignition, which is connected to the front of Wall2Wall was the source of the problem. Players who were working out there had left the water running to the ice baths or tubs and it was overflowing everywhere. That's why water was leaking onto Wall2Wall's side. Colleen called the water extractors to suck up the water. After a good period of time, the water was wiped away. That was a crazy and long day.
Sunday was more of a relaxing day. Specifically, I had to file waivers and other important paperwork. Also, I had to re-label file names because we are about to start a new session with more leagues and different brackets. This job is so amazing. I love it and I cant wait to go back for more.
