My third week at Wall2Wall started off as busy work then by the end it got really hard. Again, I started work on Thursday and Thursdays are always the busy work days. Since we have finished the birth certificates and waivers last week, Jude gave me a new task: making phone calls. If you knew me, I don't like making phone calls. But since its my job now I have to do it. i had to call youth soccer coaches to see if they were interested in joining our summer youth league. Every time we had down time, I would have to make calls until the call list is finished.
Friday was the most nerve racking days at work. I had to work and close the snack bar all by myself for the first time ever. I was really nervous that I was going to mess something up. There was one time when a lot of customers have came up at once and I was trying to rush and try to do everything correct. At the end when it was ready to close, I believe everything went well. I'm glad my finance and accounting classes came in handy when it came back to me closing the snack bar. To close the snack bar, I had to clean and wash everything. But when it came to the money portion, I had to make sure the money was the exact same as what we have started the day out with. So I had to log everything into the computer after I counted all the money. And everything equaled out the same.
On Saturday, the other intern and I had to go out and pass out flyers again for the youth soccer teams. I believe we are doing a great job with the flyers because we have received four teams since we been passing the flyers. Saturday was the fist day we worked alone until another employee came in. For our first time working by ourselves, we did pretty well.We handled everything like we were suppose to and everything went the way it was suppose to. Sunday started off badly. I got called in early because one of the employees couldn't open the safe to start the day off, so she asked for help. We didn't have the keys to open the fields and there were games that were about to start. We also didn't have any money, so when someone was making a payment, we just had to write down everything for the time being. When people need change, they would have to wait. After fifteen minutes on working on the safe, we got it open and we were able to start the day off normally. From then on, everything went perfectly fine.
